Pitti 87 – Lubiam
Another brand I wanted to show is Italian menswear clothing specialist called Lubiam. Lubiam has been founded by Luigi Bianchi in 1939 even though he has owned a menswear store since 1911. The location of the premises of the first shop was his home town – Mantova, in North Italy and this is partly where the name ‘Lubiam’ came from. It is an acronym from Luigi, Bianchi and Mantova. Today, the brand is being run by a fourth generation of the Bianchi family.
Lubiam offers clothes from 4 different collections:
Those first two collections are the most popular ones, especially the L.B.M.1911. It is very characteristic because Lubiam uses dyed and washed fabrics to make their garments and has become a world leader in dyeing and washing fabrics. Dyeing and washing creates a vintage-like look which Lubiam is know for. All garments are produced in brand’s factory in Mantova while the fabrics are being produced exclusively for Lubiam. In terms of construction all jackets are very soft with almost-none are no shoulder padding at all.
AW16 collection is very colourful. There is a bordeaux double breasted blazer as well as orange/navy/brown checked one. There is orange scarf but also a rich blue knitted tie. Lubiam uses quite a lot of green as well with the tartan jacket as a leader.
Denim shirts are still very popular and are paired with checked blazers in shades of brown or green. Lubiam presented a special line of trousers called Gio Zubon.
Must say I am very impressed with the collection. I love almost all the combinations of jacket, shirt and accessories and would be willing to try them out. Considering Lubiam is rather affordable I can’t wait to see the collection in stores.
The brand is available in Yoox, Nordstrom, Haberdash and also in Poland under Macaroni Tomato brand.
Please see the collection below.
