In this post I will present you with the 3rd and final outfit from Pitti Uomo 88. I have already posted the previous two posts Day 1 here and Day 2 here.

During last full day at Pitti 88 (Thursday) I decided to go for more classic combination: blue jacket and odd trousers. Jacket is something you have already seen on the blog before, it is the Suitsupply Copenhagen model made of a very, very light linen. It is almost transparent when looking against the sun. You basically feel like you are wearing two shirts rather than a jacket. There is no padding in the shoulders whatsoever and the canvass is very thin and light. There is no lining apart from the sleeves, which sometimes make it warmer than I would like so probably will have to get rid of it before next summer. I found this jacket to be extremely comfortable mainly because you can not really feel it. If you need/want to wear jacket in hot weather than this one would make you look smart but not hot. It is quite wrinkly though, as you might expect from linen. Patch pockets make it more like smart casual but in my opinion there is no need to look more elegant in summer linen jacket. I even sometimes roll the sleeves a little bit to move it closer to casual side. Copenhagen is one of the more fitted styles and definitely a little bit shorter than other jackets. It is perfectly normal for summer garments.

Dzisiaj chcialbym Wam pokazac trzeci i ostatni juz outfit z ostatnich targow Pitti Uomo. Dwa poprzednie mozna znalezc pod tymi linkami: dzien 1 i dzien 2.

Podczas ostatniego pelnego dnia targow zdecydowalem sie na bardziej klasyczna kombinacje: niebieska marynarka i spodnie w kontrastujacym kolorze. Sama marynarka byla pokazywana juz nie jeden raz. To lniana wersja stylu Copenhagen od Suitsupply. Wykonana jest z bardzo lekkiej tkaniny. Kiedy patrzy sie na jej konstrukcje bez podszewki jest niemal przezroczysta. Sam splot jest otwarty a w polaczeniu z mala waga tkaniny sprawia wrazenie jakby nosilo sie dwie koszule. Ramiona nie maja zadnego wypelnienia, a plotno na ktorym uszyto marynarke tez jest bardzo lekkie. Marynarka wykonana jest oczywiscie bez podszewki, jedynie rekawy ja maja. Ma to pomagac w zakladaniu, ale szczerze mowiac to jest to najcieplejszy element. Kolejnego lata juz chyba sie jej pozbede. Tak lekka marynarka jest bardzo wykogda, przez brak ussztywnien zapewnia duzy komfort, a przy tym pozwala wygladac relatywnie elegancko – w porownaniu np do t-shirtu. Gnie sie jak kazda lniana tkanina wiec nie uznaje tego jako wada. Sam niekiedy nawet podwijam delikatnie rekawy zeby nadac jej jeszcze bardziej sportowego charakteru. Styl Copenhagen  jest jednym z krotszych krojow, moim zdaniem wpisuje sie idealnie w letni styl.

Trousers actually had their debut during Pitti. They are of my standard style featuring two forward pleats, slanted pockets, daks adjusters (two buttons at the waistband), button fly and no cuffs. I still haven’t figured out if cuffs are for me or not so…well you could tell me actually your thoughts on that. Do you think they suit me considering I am only 175cm high?

Spodnie oficjalnie debiutowaly podczas Pitti. To kroj na ktorym oparlem juz 2 inne pary. Uszyto je na dwie zakladki skierowane do przodu, skosne kieszenie, mozliwosc regulacji po bokach za pomoca dwu zapinanych guzikow, rozporek na guziki oraz brak mankietow. Ciagle nie zdecydowalem czy mankiety sluza mojej figurze. Moze Wy macie na ten temat zdanie? Czy mankiety popsuly by proporcje i skrocily mnie optycznie? A moze nie robia wielkiej roznicy, a warto je dodac w casualowych spodniach?

They are made of pure linen from Dugdale in light olive green fabric. Fabric itself is not particularly thin or light but the open weave gives it enough of breathability. I found high rise trousers to feel a bit warmer than lower rise ones – maybe a tip for you. I guess it is because of the waistband which usually is lined therefore provides additional layer of material on the hips. Trousers have not been modified since my last order of grey flannel pair but I am thinking now that maybe I should have made them a bit shorter. Maybe just 0.25in.

Shirt has been presented here before too. It has been finished almost completely by hand and features very nice looking collar with 3.5in collar points. Collar band is a bit higher as well creating the collar to roll nicely. Long collar points allow it to sit under the lapel. There is also 0.5cm tie gap.

Koszula uszyta zostala prawie calkowicie recznie przez Luxire. Pokazywalem ja tez wczesniej w poscie o flanelowych spodniach. Bardzo podoba mi sie projekt kolnierzyka, ktory udalo mi sie osiagnac po kilku iteracjach. Dlugosc skrzydelek to 3.5cala. Biorac pod uwage wyzsza stojke kolnierzyka to wcale nie jest tak duzo. Daje to jednak prawie 100% pewnosc ze zawsze schowa sie pod klapa marynarki. Krotkie kolnierzyki z niska stojka to wg mnie jest plaga sieciowek. Potrafi to zepsuc nawet najlepszy outfit i szczerze mowiac jestem na tym punkcie wyczulony. Przy wyzszej stojce krawat dobrze przylega do szyi, kolnierzyk nie deformuje sie a wszystkie linie plynnie przechodza od klap marynarki do twarzy. 0.5cm przerwy na kolnierzyk to minimum choc w takich wyzszych kolnierzykach nie jest konieczne. Im nizszy tym wg mnie przerwa powinna byc wieksza. 

As a tie I decided to wear something in typical summer fabric and match it with the colour of the trousers. It is an unlined shantung silk tie made of beautiful deep/forest green raw silk with small light blue dots woven in England. I have recently become in love with raw silks and recommend them to everyone. The matte finish and slubby look give it a very desirable casual appearance. It’s been made as six-fold which allows for nice knot. What is also interesting is that it is one of the very few ties that when tied has the other end almost equal in length to the main end. It is not an issue to me in general but spotted in on the photos and it means it is well designed for a person of my size. Another thing worth noticing is that it is almost 9cm wide (3.5in) making it one of the wider ones in my collection. At the end, if you got a nice tie then as well you might want to show as much of it as you can ;).

Krawat to typowo letni produkt. W kolorze nawiazuje do spodni, ale odcieniem juz sie od nich wyraznie odroznia. Wykonala go jako krawat bez podszewki z surowego jedwabiu – tzw. szantungu – pracownia Vanda Fine Clothing z Singapuru. Piekna tkanina o zywym zielonym kolorze w delikatnie blekitne kropki tkana w Anglii daje wyrazny kontrast do koszuli i sprano-niebieskiego koloru marynarki. Sam szantung ma matowy wyglad z charakterystycznymi odstajacymi wloknami – stad nazwa – raw “surowy” jedwab. Zapewnia to charakterystyczny, typowo letni charakter. Konstrukcja krawata to 6-fold bez podszewki z bardzo miekkim wkladem. Do tego jest szeroki na prawie 9cm wiec nie ma problemow z ladnym wezlem (ja nosze tylko 4-in-hand, wezel prosty). Sprawne oko takze zauwazy, ze ciensza koncowka jest prawie tej samej dlugosci co ta szersza, a rzadko sie to zdarza. Znaczy to jedynie tylko ze proporcje tego modelu pasuja idealnie do osoby mojego wzrostu i proporcji przy uzyciu wezla 4-in-hand. 

Pocket square is made of white linen with interesting beige edge. Simon Crompton has mention few times lately that he really likes light grey hanks as they add a bit more contrast to his look and make it just a bit more interesting than plain white. I think the same of this one from Gutteridge which I picked up while in Milan. It is big enough so that I can wear it folded in square and it does not collapse. I was not the biggest fan of contrast edges in white linen squares but maybe beige is as far as I can go?

Poszetke zdobylem podczas pobuty we Wloszech w sklepie marki Gutteridge. Simon Crompton ostatnio pisal o kolorach koszuli i poszetek. Prezentowal noszona przez siebie poszetke w kolorze jasno szarym jako alternatywe dla klasycznej bialej, podobnie z biala koszula. W moim przypadku inny kolor ma jedynie obszycie poszetki – jasno bezowy. Mysle, ze to ciekawa alternatywa dla klasyki, szczegolnie w bardziej casualowym srodowisku. Kolorowa nic wg mnie bylaby juz przesada, ale sam brzeg w delikatnie innym odcieniu jest w sam raz. Poszetka jest konkretnych rozmiarow dzieki czemu zlozona po prezydencku utrzymuje sie w brustaszy i nie “przepada” ;). Chyba nikt tego nie lubi. Kontrastowy brzeg to nie calkiem moja bajka, ale ta pokazana tutaj mnie przekonala. Nosicie takie?

If you look carefully than you can probably see that I am wearing braces in the same colour as the edge of the square. Yes, I purchased the braces from Boggi. They are clip-ons as I prefer those more than button braces. More conservative of you would not agree but I think small things like this won’t make you any less stylish. Know how to break the rules, right?!

Ostatnim akcesorium sa bezowe szelki kupione w sklepie marki Boggi w Mediolanie. Ciesze sie ze udalo sie je idealnie dobrac odcieniem do brzegow poszetki, moze odrobine sa ciemniejsze. Oczywiscie sa to szelki na klipsy, takie najbardziej lubie. Ktos bardziej konserwatywny moze sie nie zgodzic, ale male detale jak ten, typowo w stylu sprezzatury sa jak najbardziej dozwolone. W koncu to outfit z Florencji ;). Nie mozna tez wszystkich zasad meskiego stylu stosowac z zamknietymi oczami. Zachecam do drobnych ‘przestepstw’ :P.

As shoes I went for classic loafers in blue suede made by Laszlo Vass on F last. Very solid and durable JR sole with closed channel, relatively narrow waist and metal toe caps.

Buty to loafersy od Laszlo Vassa wykonane na kopycie F z niebieskiego zamszu. Nie jest to klasyczny penny loafer ale bardzo podobny. Byl wykonany na zamowienie. Podeszwa pochodzi od legendarnego Rendenbacha, jest ladnie zwezona w glanku a front zabezpieczaja metalowe wzmocnienia.
