Last two weeks, because I was moving home, took all my free time. I promised to publish photos from our photo shoot in Belgrave a while ago but they are being published just now. Sorry for the delay guys. Fortunately I do not plan to move home anytime soon so don’t expect delay like this will happen in the near future.
I can not really remember publishing photos of myself wearing a pair of jeans. Although I wear jeans quite a lot, actually only during weekends. The most casual outfit I think is still suitable for the blog is being presented on the photos below. It is a type of a look which confirms that you can be very stylish and elegant even when wearing a pair of jeans. The key is to match it with other garments made of casual fabrics, textures or colours while still keeping similar level of elegance.
Starting from the outside I went for the very classic outerwear – Barbour jacket. It is shown here very often simply because I wear it all the time. The double breasted overcoat you have already seen is reserved for days when I want to go up a notch but most of the time it is Barbour – even with a suit. Maybe in this way I try to look more Italian.. They like to wear their suits with casual jackets and I am a very big fan of that too.
Jeans are next. I was a little bit concerned about shooting jeans, one might ask what is elegant about a work pants? Well, not much I guess, but when all the rest of your outfit is styled just a little bit more elegant but still in the same ‘range’ then it all work well. I think jeans and waxed cotton of Barbour jacket work really well together. The least elegant shoes I own is this pair of Meermin dark brown suede double monks. In my opinion they are too casual to be worn with worsted wool of a suit, a little bit better with flannel but the very best with jeans and casual chinos. This is why these monks are my favourite weekend shoe. Even more casual would be the version made of country calf (grain) leather. You cannot probably go lower in elegance hierarchy of shoes.
Whatever it takes I always wear a tie. This time was not different and I went for a knitted tie which also is the least elegant of all ties. It is a very good combination because of the texture of the tie. You can also find an extreme version which involves zig-zag pattern. They are available in many menswear stores around. The shirt could have been striped which would make it a bit more elegant. Stripes are higher in hierarchy that check but lower than a plain shirt. Plain one would be too elegant in this case and a very fine stripe too, I think. Jacket is from Massimo Dutti. It is very light, without construction and unlined. Even though it is not of the highest quality it is still a decent product for the price (£30). Massimo Dutti jackets seem to be inspired by a LBM 1911 style, looks pretty good and I like it in all my casual outfits. I have got another one on sale but it is more summer-like version (cream in colour) so too soon to show it.

Ostatnie 2 tygodnie, ze wzgledu na przeprowadzke, obdarly mnie z resztek wolnego czasu. Blog na tym ucierpial i obiecane zdjecia z sesji w Belgravii pojawiaja sie dopiero teraz. Przeprowadzki sa jednak dosc rzadkie, wiec w najblizszym czasie nie przewiduje zeby takie opoznienia sie powtorzyly.
Do rzeczy. Nie pamietam zebym na blogu zamieszczal jakiekolwiek zdjecia w jeansach. Tym razem, mimo dostojnej lokalizacji postawilem na jedna z najbardziej casualowych stylizacji na jakie mnie stac, wciaz nadajace sie na bloga. Ten look to dowod na to, ze mozna wygladac elegancko a przy tym nie stroic sie w garnitur lub nawet welniane spodnie. Trzeba po prostu wybrac jak najbardziej casualowe materialy, faktury i kolory.
Zaczynajac od zewnatrz, kurtka Barbour. Ostatnio czesto sie tu pojawia, uwielbiam ja i nosze prawie codziennie. Dwurzedowy plaszcz zakladam kiedy mam ochote wejsc jeden stopien wyzej na drabinie elegancji, ale zazwyczaj zostaje przy Barbour, nawet z garniturem. Sprezzatura, mozna powiedziec. Wlosi lubia nosic garnitury w sposob luzny i swobodny, mnie sie to tez podoba.
Co dalej? Jeansy. Mialem duzo obaw przed sesja w jeansach, ktos powie co eleganckiego w roboczych spodniach materialowych. No nie za wiele, mimo to kiedy cala reszta ubran dobrana jest w odpowiednio bardziej elegancki sposob to look na tym nie traci. Jeans i wytarty material kurtek Barbour swietnie ze soba graja, mozna je ze soba zawsze swobodnie laczyc. Czas na buty. Najmniej eleganckie jakie mam to wlasnie zamszowe double-monki. Mam wrazenie, ze nie wygladaja specjalnie dobrze z welna czesankowa garnituru, moze troche lepiej z flanela, ale najlepiej z jeansami i chinosami. Sa wiec przeze mnie czesto uzytkowane kiedy mam ochote na luzniejszy stroj. Jeszcze bardziej casualowa bylaby wersja z skory z faktura, takie jak te. Chyba nizej juz w hierarchii nie daloby sie zejsc.
Zeby caly stroj byl dosc elegancki wiedzialem, ze cokolwiek sie stanie zawsze ubieram krawat. W takim przypadku knit sprawdzi sie idealnie. Material dzianinowy z wyrazna faktura to dobry wybor, mozna tez spotkac knity z specjalnie zastosowanym splotem jak ten zig-zag. Knity tak tkane dostepne sa juz w wielu sklepach z krawatami przyzwoitych marek. Na koniec koszula i marynarka. Moglaby byc w paski lub dwukolorowa krate, choc takich nie posiadam. Paski bylyby lekko wyzej w hierarchii elegancji ale tez by sie sprawdzily. Nie moglyby byc tylko zbyt waskie (geste) wtedy koszula wygladalby nie spojnie z jeansami. Marynarka jest bawelniana, lekka i bez konstrukcji od Massimo Dutti. Mimo, ze nie grzeszy jakoscia to jest przyzwoita, a w wyprzedazowej cenie sprzed 2 lat (ok £30) jest swietnym zakupem. Wzorowana ewidentnie na marce LBM 1911, wyglada caly czas niezle i lubie ja w casualowych stylizacjach. Niedawno kupilem identyczna na lato, ale w kolorze kremowym, wiec jest jeszcze za wczesnie zeby ja pokazywac.
